CD FAQs

MetLife Bank agrees to pay you a fixed interest rate (based on the amount of your deposit) over a specific period of time. This interest rate will not change during that time period. Withdrawing money from the CD prior to the maturity date will result in an early withdrawal penalty. A Money Market Account allows you ongoing access to your money at any time. Some withdrawal limitations may apply. You can access your Money Market Account by check, ATM withdrawal, online transfer or by phone. (See detailed disclosure.) The interest rate earned on a Money Market Account is not guaranteed to remain the same, so it could increase or decrease at any time without notice.

A MetLife Bank CD can be opened with an initial deposit as low as $2,000. A Jumbo CD requires a $100,000 minimum deposit and may also earn a higher interest rate.

Yes, you can withdraw money from your CD account. However, you will be assessed an early withdrawal penalty on the amount of principal that you withdraw prematurely. The penalty is equal to 3 or 6 months of the interest that has been paid or will be paid (based on the term).
