When there is a loss to the property, you file a claim with your insurance company. When the claim is approved, you will receive a check from the insurance company to be used toward the repair of damages to the property. The insurance company will issue the check payable to both you and MetLife Home Loans to ensure the funds are used solely to repair the damage reported in the claim.
To endorse a claim check less than $10,000

To endorse a claim check over $10,000
The claim check cannot be endorsed at a local branch. The check must be forwarded to us fully endorsed by all parties listed as payees. Contact our Loss Draft department for assistance at 1-866-411-8907
Additional documentation is required:
Complete copy of insurance estimate itemizing repairs
Signed contract endorsed by you and the contractor
Copy of (each) contractor's license (where required)
Copes of all permits associated with scope of repairs
Copy of (each) contractor's W-9 (Contractor's physical mailing address is required)
Conditional Waiver of Lien – Completed by each contractor.
Certificate of Intent to Repair (completed by you)
